Since her freshmen year at UConn in 2015, Erika started working in Dr. Luo's lab and continued on for the rest of her BS study. She published one research as a co-author on the development of liver-targeting nanoparticles for treating fatty liver. After her BS degree, Erika stayed in Dr. Luo's lab as a MS student to continue her research on nanotechnology and completed a very challenging project to evaluate mucoadhesive properties of nanoparticles via rheological measurement on nanoparticles-mucin interactions. Erika recently published a review article and is currently working on three manuscripts for publication soon. Erika is a great research member in Dr. Luo's lab and an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. We wish her the best for her upcoming academic adventure in medical school and believe she will be a great doctor in the near future!
